“Music is what feelings sound like.” This is the quote that has inspired this artist since before and into her music career. Tara Lee, born in Longmont, CO, is a singer/songwriter based in Nashville, TN who strives to uplift and inspire her audience. With her faith as her foundation and the Rocky Mountains as her playground, Tara’s music is a mix of country and folk with an indie twist. Her mantra is “Be inspiring, uplift others, and the world around you will become brighter,"

Tara Lee grew up in her hometown, Longmont, CO, her whole life. Not small enough to be a town but not big enough to be a city, she had her share of rural and urban moments. Her love of music has been with her since she was child when she first expressed her dream to be a famous singer at age 5. Not only music, but sports are her passion as well. A three-sport athlete until college and then a full-time track athlete at Belmont University, Tara has had her fair share of busy days and moments of teamwork. It’s only made her stronger, though. It wasn’t until middle school that she took the first step to solidify her desired path in life by going into choir instead of band like the rest of her family. It may seem small, but that was when things became real to Tara. From then on, music was always in Tara’s mind, and she began writing songs at 11. Now, she is writing songs almost every day and considers her guitar and piano some of her most precious things.

Having been at Belmont University in Nashville, TN, Tara has had many opportunities to grow her music career and experience in the industry. Having sung in a back-up choir for Michael W. Smith and Cece Winans, and back-up vocals for Russell Dickerson, she has seen the stage lights and helped other artists shine. That is not all, however. Performing in her college ensemble, Southbound, built the foundation for her comfort singing on stage. Tara has sung multiple writer’s rounds and co-written with multiple people to expand her performing and writing experience, and she enjoys it very much!

These days, Tara is establishing her brand now that she recently graduated Belmont University. Her knowledge of the music industry, music technology, and songwriting are expanding through her mentoring and personal study. She is happily playing writer's rounds every chance she gets, as well as working on expanding her following through social media. As of the new year, Tara will be releasing music - so look out for it!!

Now that Tara's graduated, she plans to make roots in Nashville and increase the number of gigs and writer’s rounds to grow her audience and live performance experience. Other goals she has is recording songs or demos, so that publishing companies and record labels can know her music and a possible contract can come from it. Tara Lee has the goal of staying true to herself and her music, being kind and courageous, and always living with genuine intent. Her music emulates just that.
